João Lima

Born in Lisbon, 1975. He took his degree in Architecture in 1998. Since 1990 he has been part of the bands Alquimia, Falso Alarme and [9.9]. With the [9.9] he represented Portugal at Rome´s  1998  Young Mediterranean Biennale. He has been a band member of Oquestrada since 2002. With two CDs  in the market – Tasca Beat (2009) and Mad in Portugal (2014) -, the latter band has done concerts throughout Portugal, Europa, Russia and Macao, also appearing at the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize awards ceremony. He has also toured Europe with Dulce Pontes from 2009 and 2011, participating in the album Momentos and in the videoclip Júlia Galdéria. In parallel, he has composed soundtracks for theatre and film shorts, as well as pursuing a solo career. Some highlights: 1st Anniversary of Serralves, Porto; Festival Alcântara, Lisbon; Lynbook and Poetry Club, New York; and Pow! How!, London. In 2016 he co-founded Remexido with João Dacosta, Carlos Ribeiro and Jorge Lopes Fernandes, launching their first album of originals recently. In teaching, he taught Descriptive Geometry , Mechanical Design and Autocad for 2 years at the Almada Professional School. In Paris, he participated at a Professional School with other musicians, actors and teachers professores in the conception and performance of a show with autististic children, a pilot project aiming to elaborate a concept applicable to other schools, which led to a public presentation. He has also given private music classes, mostly in Portuguese and classical guitar.
